Ratlam gets 18,800 houses sanctioned under PM Awas Yojna valuing Rs 913 crores

Government of India's most ambitious housing scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) envisaging investment of over Rs 6.42 lakh crore spread across 22,859 projects and 1.07 crore houses.

 Out of the 1.07 crore houses, 36 lakh houses have already been constructed with completion rate of ~34%.

Under the Urban Housing scheme, Ratlam District has been sanctioned 18,842 houses with total investment involved is Rs 913 crores. These houses are spread at various locations within Ratlam District like, Alot, Badawada, Jaora, Namli, Piploda, Sailana and Ratlam City. Out of total sanctioned houses of 18,842, 36.8% or 6,943 houses have been built till date.

Let us understand first understand what is PMAY:

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY)


  • PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) launched in 2015; targeting to construct 50mn units by 2022 divided into PMAY (Urban) & PMAY (Gramin)
  • PMAY (Urban) sets 20mn housing units to be constructed. While PMAY (Gramin) sets immediate target to construct 10mn houses by 2018-19 and 30mn housing units by 2022
  • Govt is also providing Subsidy scheme for taking loan against purchase of these Affordable Housing units for Economic weaker section (EWS) / Low Income Group (LIG) / Middle Income Group (MIG) categories



Status of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY)

  • 22,859 projects with total investment outlay of Rs. 6.42 lakh crore spread across Indian States and UT's
  • Central Govt assistance sanctioned is Rs1.68 lakh crores for construction of 1.07 crore housing units
  • Out of Sanctioned Rs. 1.68 lakhs crores Rs. 71.2 thousand crore has been released for construction of houses
  • Out of 1.07 crore housing units, 66.6 lakh units are already grounded and balance is at different stage for approvals
  • 36.08 lakh housing units have been completed till date with completion ratio of ~34%
