Ratlam Textile Park Proposal: MPIDC proposes land in Ratlam for mega integrated textile park

As per media reports Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has proposed an industrial land in Ratlam to develop a mega integrated textile park after the finance minister announced to launch seven mega textile parks with integrated facilities in three years in the Union budget 2021-22.

MPIDC executive director Rohan Saxena said, “We have proposed a 1,000 acre land in Ratlam to develop a mega integrated textile park under the recently-announced scheme in the Union budget. The selection of the site will be on a competitive basis. Given the location and connectivity of Ratlam to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the location well suits the requirement of the textile park.”

MharoRatlam has highlighted in its earlier report that Delhi-Mumbai expressway touching Ratlam Would help in creating huge business opportunity over years.

As per the initial map, Expressway will be connecting at Ratlam District and will go through the route of Namli-Dhamnod.

Adding to it, Saxena said setting up of a textile park will help in generating local employment and giving a thrust to economic development of the region. The industry department is eyeing investments from medium and large-scale industries in Ratlam.

If it gets approved, Ratlam will regain the lost "Shine and Tag of Textile Zone". Ratlam Was know for its quality textile material manufactured from Sajjan Mills Ltd. Established in 1957, company was into manufacturing of textiles and a composite textile mill in Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh). It was one of the largest textile mills in central India during 1960’s and employed over 3000 people. A township was developed around the mill which comprised of schools, hospitals, residences and a temple.
